“Three concluding essays by Clark, Eisler, and Drummond chart an exciting path for a world beyond patriarchy.”

My concluding essay Options for the Future in The Rule of Mars, edited by Cristina Biaggi (KIT: 2006), envisions the transformation of our culture into a more cooperative, mutually-beneficial society. In this article, I propose and demonstrate the viability of transforming patriarchy through a process of cultural metamorphosis. I do not believe anyone else has offered this kind of metamorphic roadmap to lead us to the next paradigm.
The Rule of Mars examines the core issue facing us today: Will we choose to continue to escalate violence, or to transform ourselves, and our global culture, in order to survive and thrive? This book elucidates our most urgent challenge and posits the question: Will we self-destruct or evolve—through mutually-beneficial relationships—into a healthier culture?
Now is a crucial time in the course of our culture. This fascinating anthology provides a thought-provoking compass for seeing where we’ve come from, and where we can go. It is a book of insights and hope. Options for the Future concludes the book by envisioning ways of engaging in a metamorphic process of growth. This is new thinking to shift to a new awareness, and engender new and healthier patterns of growth and transformation for all of us.
